I lived in Littleton for 17 yrs., just off Broadway and Arapahoe Rd. I wouldn't see much coyote or fox, but yea, they were around. The Highline Canal was just to the south of me, that's where they generally came in from. This has been over 15 years ago since I lived there. Very sorry about your loss.

Sorry about the loss of your pets. Been there, it's quite sad. Unfortunately, to the many natural predators out there, pets are just food. Coyotes, in particular, have become quite adapted to living around people--coyotes are opportunistic predators that will kill and eat whatever they can catch. Unfortunately, there a lot of formerly domesticated dogs running around, too. They revert to their natural predator instinct quite easily. So, the best place for relatively defenseless pets is inside. Otherwise, they risk the same fate as your pets.
