Default Short trip to Castle Rock, need best suggestions

Hi all- we are STILL in the market and mindset that we would like to relocate to CO (just waiting on that transfer! Or my husband getting his CPA- which ever comes first!).

I am taking a short trip at the end of this month. Our main area of interest is the Southern 'burbs of Denver (NOT asking about your opinion on these areas! If you want more info on why, you can read my posts from the past! I know some people have strong opinions on burbs v. urban, yadda yadda, yadda).

I will be in Castle Rock and would like the best suggestions of neighborhoods to drive through for both new and existing (used) housing to get the best feel for Castle Rock. Also interested in Highlands Ranch, but more so Castle Rock (at this point, anyway). I would be interested in touring some models and also checking out flyers from "For Sale Signs" for random houses up for sale. I am really interested to see if the price is a lot different new v. slightly used.

I have tons of guides and info that builders and developers have sent....but without being there, its hard to pick and choose which ones to go out of my way to see.

I would like to see The Meadows development. Beyond that, I'm up in the air. We are looking in the $350, 000 range.

What are your suggestions? Would especially appreciate replies from Castle Rock residents/past residents, or anyone with experience in that city (checked it out themselves, has family that lives there and visits often, is a realtor there- NOT looking for a realtor, though! etc.).

Thank you!

You might check out Red Hawk and Cutter Ridge. The Meadows is a lovely community - went through there a few times when we were looking for homes!

My wife and I live in Sapphire Pointe. There are a good amount of houses for sale that you can probably check out. There are no more new constuction homes available. We toured all of the neighborhoods with houses in our price range (~$350-400k) and we thought Sapphire Pointe was the nicest.

My wife and I were excited to see The Meadows when we were house hunting but were disappointed when we got there. I would definitely take some time to at least drive through some of the others that would be in youir price range:
Sapphire Pointe
Founders Village
Castle Oaks
Castlewood Ranch

There are some other neighborhoods closer to downtown that were built several years before the others. The Woodlands is one.

Best of Luck in your search! We love the Castle Rock area. Let me know if you have any other questions on the town. I may be able to help.

petersoj is on a distinguished road
We just bought in the Meadows development (currently renting in Highlands Ranch, having moved from CA) and are looking forward to moving in a couple weeks! This website was very helpful to us to find properties while we were still in CA: REcolorado.com - brought to you by Metrolist Inc.. You can search by the usual parameters but can also limit by subdivision. I usually typed in zip code 80109 and subdivision: meadows. Hope this helps!

If you will be looking at Sapphire Point, go down the road a little farther and look at Padera

That's it, no more help for Angels fans!! JK - it was about time they beat the Sox!

Pradera is a little further down from Sapphire Pointe. It's a golf community and $350k may not get you much there although we haven't looked there in a while.

Best of luck!

Edit: I just went onto ReColorado and there are no homes available in Pradera for under $424k.
