I am moving from SD to CO and I'm not quite sure how much money i need to save to move. I plan on moving of Aug. of 2010. Now I am moving with 4 other people and we are going to share a small house so that will cut down on the cost a lot. How much is it going to cost for housing there. I'm totally in the dark on this so any comments are welcome.

Give me your best advice.

Much of the answer depends on wether or not you have a JOB lined up when you arrive. Not having a job will mean that you have to bring a bigger pile of $$$$ with you.

Some likely expenses that come to mind:
Gas and lodging for your travels from SD to CO

Moving expenses for your belongings ( drive a uhaul or have the movers do it )

Lodging while you are looking for a place to live

Cost of meals

Cost of gas and car maintenanice while you're getting settled in

Health insurance premiuns ( if you have health insurance )

Cost of renting living space once you find it.
There are probably other expenses, but these are the ones to calculate off the top of my head

Depends on which part of Colorado you're moving to. There's big differences between places. Small mountain resorts are very expensive (ie. you wouldn't be able to afford it.) Denver and other towns aren't bad. An "okay" part of Denver you're looking at maybe $1200 for a house big enough for you and your roommates?
