Our fave is Winter Park - but that's 21 days away from opening.
Please be safe driving on I-70/I-25 out there, folks!

Yea it was the earliest on record for The Basin, but really only a week earlier than usual

This thread is much more fun than the "boohoo it's snowing in October" thread!
Whoa... I haven't heard mention of 3 feet though... only up to 2'.
I live at 8300' so if we really get that much I will be glad to post some pics.
(We moved up here 12 years ago and we received nearly 3 feet of snow the third week of October.)

Just checked the COL DOT page. Snowing on I-70 at Vail Pass and "snow packed" on Berthoud and Rabbit Ears passes.
Here in COLO SPGS, the wind picked up force about 20 minutes ago.

We're weather spotters for the NWS so I thought I'd better see how much has fallen since it started snowing at 4 pm. I just measured 3". The first hour it was so wet it just melted.

Well, my prediction about Grand Junction's first snow was off by only six weeks! Looks like 2 inches.

We have 16" as of 8 am and it is snowing heavily. Photos to follow. I just heard they are backing off the storm totals though.
