Smile Moving from Pittsburgh to CO...Need all the help I can get =)

I will be graduating from ultrasound school end of this year and want to relocate from Pittsburgh.
I am looking for jobs at children's hospital, rose medical, denver, etc.
I'm going to rent my first year and my price range is <$875/month
I have a dog that is very much like a child to me and need a dog friendly community. I found an area called Aspen Grove and if it's what the sites describe it as very dog friendly etc, I would like to locate near there.
Littleton seems nice to me.
I don't want to be in the city. I'd rather like to be out towards pretty much nothing but a grocery store. But I wouldn't want my commute to be anymore than an hour, is that possible?
I'm in my mid twenties and would prefer to live in quiet friendly neighborhood, please no college towns.
I love outdoor activities and try to include my dog in everything that i do.
Im not sure what else to add..
Please help. I don't want to move out to CO completly blind

Welcome to Colorado. Congrats on your graduation. There are so many areas here that seem to fit what you are looking for. Obviously, if you really want a real small town, you might have to commute a ways to get to the hospitals. It also depends on which hospital you will be working at. Childrens will be opening a new hospital soon in Aurora and Rose is in Denver proper. Almost every community here is very dog friendly. I live in Louisville near Boulder and I love it. It might be too "family" oriented for what you are looking for though. You might want to look at some info on Golden. It might be a bit of a drive, but I think it has what you want. I know others on this board will help you with their own preferences. If you are more specific, we can help you even more. Don't be scared, you and your dog will love it here!

Hi Ginger. I used to work at Childrens Hospital and lived in the green mountain area of lakewood. It was maybe a 25 minute commute, and only 15 minutes to escape to the mountains. I loved it. Also you might try Morrison, very small town feel kindof tucked behind a hill, quite quaint, lots of bike trails, etc. Littleton isnt quite as nice as green mountain IMO. Good luck!

Littleton is a very nice suburb, with the usual mixture of price ranges. Finding something around $875 a month may be doable. Aspen Grove is a shopping center, so I don't know what residential area you are referring to. There are apartments adjacent to it, but they are old and not well kept. The only good thing is that they are right next to the South Platte River park, which is a great open space for hiking, biking, rollerblading, and walking the dog. It's also adjacent to light rail, but that won't get you to any of the hospitals you mentioned. Commuting to Rose or Children's would be less than an hour.
