Default Bon Jour

There is so much to see and to here that you could stay six months and not see it all. Here are some suggestions. If you can find a travel guide book that would help you a great deal. This is the best I can do for you, hope your trip is a great one. Sincerely, Michael.

Durango:
1. Ride the train from Durango to Silverton and back, see http://www.durangotrain.com/
2. Hotel & Restaurant: General Palmer Inn, see http://www.generalpalmerhotel.com/

Rocky Mountains:
1. Estes Park, Colorado is the entry area to the Roosevelt National Park, ride the tram up the mountain to see the view for 100 miles.
2. Drive thru Roosevelt National Park, via Route 34, loop around via Gaskil and Grand Lake. Then drive south via route 40 via Tabernash, Berthoud Falls, and Idaho Springs. An excellent circle tour.

Denver Area, west side:
1. Visit Georgetown, ride the short train ride called the Loop. See http://www.georgetownlooprr.com/
2. Eat in Georgetown, find a place that has Buffalo or Bison burgers
3. Golden, CO. Visit the Coors Brewery - free beer.
4. Golden, DO. Drive up Lookout Mountain and visit the grave of Buffalo Bill Cody. Take the Lariat Loop tour, http://lariatloop.org/

Pueblo:
1. State Fair, Aug 25 - Sept 4. http://www.coloradostatefair.com/
2. Canon City area, west of Pueblo, see http://www.canoncitycolorado.com/ (broken link).
Visit the Royal Gorge Park (http://www.royalgorgebridge.com/)
Ride a train through the gorge, see (http://www.royalgorgeroute.com/)
Take a raft trip on the river, see http://www.raftecho.com/

Glenwood Canyon:

PtitMousseduweb, I am sorry I missed your post. The Colorado forum stays really busy. I would have responded to you if I saw your post. Don't write Colorado off. We on the Colorado forum are not trying to be unfriendly to the people in France. I know several great people who live in Colorado, from France, and they are all very nice. There is so much to do in Colorado! Mike From Back East absolutely did a fantastic job on what to do! If you write us back for any specific information you wish to know, I will answer you the best that I can. Have a great day!

Hi Mike from back east,

Thank's you very mutch, I was very sad that nobody help me.
Because, I'm French but I love America then I don't understand why nobody want to help me. If a american came in France I will be happy to help him to love my country like I love your country. I have made on my personal website a "Welcome in France" section in english for american.
I would like to make all my website in english but I have not a good english to do that project.
I'm going in Colorado, if you know as I'm happy ! I'm feeling very well in your country ... it's my american dream ... going in holidays in USA WEST ... it's the four time than I make road trip in america. You have always been kind with us ... that is why I return now every year, when I'm in France I think American. But I love my country too, the first tourist country in the world.

I'll print your post with me in Colorado ... thank's
Take care,
Friendly yours,
PtitMousseDuWeb

Default Trucks

Try these truck dealers, mostly in Denver. They will have parking lots full of trucks. Some sites have many photographs:

Hi Mike,

I have seen on the Colorado State fair than I can see Rodeo ?

Of course I don't understand all on the website,
then can you help me.
Can you confirm to me than I can see Rodeo on the 2 or 3 September 2006 at Colorado Sate Fair ?
I have printed the grounds map ... there is a Rodeo Area (do you think that I can see rodeo during 2 or 3 september)
But I have not found a schedule to see the rodeo (I don't know if it's morning, afternoon or evening)
Adult Admission 8$

I have seen there is a Fiesta parade at 10 pm do you think than I can go to East Abriendo Avenue to see it ?

I'm sorry Mike but I try to understand but I prefer to have you help for Rodeo

For others information, it's Ok
Durango it's OK
Rocky Mountain it's OK (scenic)
Denver Area OK
Glenwood Ok
Manitou Springs Ok
I must work on Trucks information now, thank's for your links

Thank's

Ptitmousseduweb, I wish you a great trip and be sure and see Royal Gorge, Mike listed it. It is worth seeing. If you are going by car, go visit Ouray, north of Durango. It is like Switzerland. Ouray has some awesome hot springs. Mesa Verde near Cortez is really great to visit if you like Native American history. In Pagosa, 60 miles east of Durango, go to the website http://www.pagosa.com/history_chimney.htm (broken link) and you can see a public website on information in Pagosa. Bon Chance!

Hello Crackerjack,

I try to tell you my feeling in english ...

In fact, I have not the word to tell you as I'm happy to have got all information before going in Colorado.
I allways go on forum, to speak with american to prepared as well as possible my road trip.
I have been, on City-Data and others about Ghost Towns, Truckers, ...

Mike and you give me precious information. And be sure, that I have used all you tell me to make my road trip. You undersand, than I can see and do all ... time and money too (I have not win at Las Vegas ... Last year )

Then for Royal Gorge, it's ok Hope I'll be in the train wagon where people are outside. I'll make a scenic too, named : Gold Belt Tour.
For Ouray, it's ok too because I'll go to see some ghost towns like Animas Forks, ... near Ouray.
Mesa verde, it's Ok too when I'll stay at Durango for a few days.

Thank's for the link Pagosa (I don't know). I'm looking for if I can see Chimney Rock ...

I have many information, now. I'll just want to see a Rodeo now may be at Pueblo during the State Fair. I'have not understand all but I think that I can see a Rodeo during 2 or 3 September.

Take Care,
PtitMousseDuWeb in France.
Thank's Mike and Crackerjack for all you help.

Now I can write a little in french for you ... : Merci beaucoup !
