LOL Anyway, I think I'll take a look into Bayfield. It kind of sounds like something I would be interested in. I do want to be in an area with great schools. My child will be in 8th grade (gosh, they grow up tooo fast!) next school year, he is an honor student, never seems to have a problem with school work, so I want great/safe schools. So, if you don't mind me asking, did you purchase acreage in Bayfield? I'd like to find something around 1 or more acres. I don't really want to look out my kitchen window and be able to chat with my neighbor in her kitchen if you know what I mean. Also, thanks for the post re: the shopping in Farmington! A gal's gotta know where the shopping is! LOL

Hi TN Gal, Yes I bought some land instead of a lot there. You can do both in Bayfield. They have subdivisions and then they have lots of open ranch and farm land too. Very green and pretty. I love Pine Valley. Also you can find acreages all around Bayfield. The area is tranquil with open green grassy hills and pine trees and other trees in areas with rivers and creeks. A nice area. I like that it is close to Durango for shopping and entertainment and Durango is the entertainment city for sure. Movies, independent movies too, arts, theater, dance, cultural activities, symphony, music of all kinds, just tons of stuff to do. I also like I can go into Farmington for more shopping and stuff to do in less than one hour. Bayfield has excellent schools. The schools arent huge either like Durango so you get more of a community feel and people are very friendly. Yes a gal has to know where to shop! Animas Valley Mall in Farmington is a good one and downtown Durango has so many stores that are not the box type of stores so you get a more of a little NY feel to it. Busy and walkers everywhere and taxis, buses, trollies and so forth really reminds me of a mini NYC. Yes they seem to grow up fast! Too fast, I agree! Oh well, we can cherish them while we have them! Bayfield is a safe town too, most people know each other there. Bayfield is a quaint town and worth checking out.
