Default Aspen's new reality tv hell ?

As a child my father had a skeleton key that unlocked all the padlocked and boarded up buildings along Aspen's main streets, my mom used to talk about my grandfather complaining about having to pay $500 to his neighbor for easment access rights to reach the paved road from his cabin in town. If I mentioned it he would go on and on about highway robbery and extortion ect. I have had my own experiences in the mountain town through out the years. It seems every one has some image or opinion on the town from their favorite ski run or restaurant or wild night there to it's liberal politics, it's jet set wealthy surroundings or just hiking or biking on Smugglers ...Just saw a trailer for the new VH1 series coming in January, it's another reality show hell..Those of you who live around the Roaring Fork or just anyone like me who doesn't.. your thoughts about it's general portrayal of Aspen..or any other random thoughts about the town. Something tells me Aspenites will be less then thrilled.

Looks like they put bolo tie's on a bunch of Californians and called it a reality show.

Can't remember the last time I watched VH1. Do remember the last time they did a reality show out here the locals complained enough to take it off the air.

That looks so incredibly stupid, I could not even make it through the trailer. If it's on VH1, maybe three people will watch it.

There was a story about it in the Post on Sunday. The altered reality of Aspen, TV-style - The Denver Post

I was a ski bum in Aspen for a year in the early '90's and I loved it...still do. I think the locals will find it humorous like that dumb movie "Aspen Extreme". I'll watch it at least once.

Ugh. It's the antithesis of how I view Colorado (though yes, I well know CO has it's heavily "Californicated" segments) and so much of what I want to be AWAY from.

This could just as soon have been set in Tahoe, or a half-dozen other American cities...judging by the trailer the setting itself is irrelevant to the pointless drama. I hope the show fails miserably.

I watched some of this show, then turned it off. Remember people in Hollywood are not based in any form of reality. They are in their own little world and anything outside of that world is to be mocked and laughed at. Television is about getting as many people as possible to watch advertisements and to buy said advertisements, that is all.
