Hi! I am a quite liberal college student looking to move to Colorado next fall. What are some gay-friendly cities and colleges I could look at? I was thinking UCDenver or CSU Fort Collins.. ANY insight would really help! Thanks!

To be honost I would say any college in Colorado is GLBT friendly. So go with the school that has the best degree for you. One school to look at is Colorado College in Colorado Springs.

Joss is correct. You're best off finding the school best for your degree program as you don't have to worry about discrimination or hostility on campus anywhere in-state. Let us know what your major is and I think we can come to a consensus on who has the best in-state program fairly quickly.

I would think Boulder would be the only true LGBT friendly city in Colorado. Most of the rest of the state is conservative.

Not ture. Boulder is the most liberal but not the only GLBT friendly city in Colorado.

I've met a few GLB people already since I've been in Denver (and not in college or GLBT specific circles, either.) I don't think most Denverites care that much about other people's lifestyles except for when it's an opportunity to share something in common. One more vote for just pick the best school / major for you.

I agree with zenkonami. I don't think the gay issue is something to worry about.

I would add Denver to that. Simply put, being gay is no big deal in Denver and we are part of the mainstream. Even the police dept. actively recruits gays and lesbians.

Another vote for "pick the place where you can get the best education". Being gay is quite acceptable most places, including here in Louisville.
