We are a professional couple, looking for an apartment in the GJ area that is around $500-600...1 BR is fine, studio is even fine..seeing as we will only be there for about 8 months. We have tried craigslist/Sentinel and are having no luck, most of the apartments we've looked at are complete dumps. We were wondering if anyone had any tips or knew of anyone trying to rent out a property...also pet friendly is preferred! Thanks!

Regardless of what city you're looking in, the great deals on apartments almost never make it into the paper. Craigslist has a few, but you have to watch it constantly and then jump when you find one before somebody else beats you to it.

You'll probably have better luck spending a day driving around the areas you're interested in looking for signs. If you can wait a couple months until college lets out for the summer, you can do even better.

On Crossroads Blvd (near Horizon Drive and I-70) there is a large apartment complex called "Crossroads Park" with one bedroom apartments in your price range. They are a decent, average quality of apartments. Some people live their as permanent residents. Others use it for short term leases due to the proximity to the Horizon business loop. It is a quiet place.

Good choice 80's keys! Yes, that would be a place worth checking out. Ample shopping is nearby, certainly enough restaurants on the Horizon loop. And just off the Interstate as well.
