Well I moved to Panama from Colorado 5 plus years ago and just want to comment on living in the mountains close to casinos or resorts. The cost of living is much higher and unless employee housing is provided (now this info is coming from when I lived there so please keep that in mind), a lot of people who worked say in Summit County (Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Keystone ski resorts), drove over Hooser Pass and lived in Park County because they couldn't afford to live in Summit - and Summit, at that time, was one of the least expensive major ski resort areas compared to say Vail or Aspen.

I'm just forgetting now the neighboring county to Eagle County (where Vail is) - maybe Gilpin? but a LOT of people lived in the other county and communted to Vail because it was too expensive to live there.

As far as casino towns like Black Hawk and Cripple Creek, and again unless something has changed or you can find employee housing, you'll probably have to look at commuting.

Believe me I do understand why you want to leave CR as we're getting a lot of expats moving here, but do keep in mind the wages might be higher there, but so are the taxes, unemployment and other things that current residents of Colorado can comment on. IT'S A BEAUTIFUL STATE! My son is in college at CU and most of my family live in different parts of CO and I lived there for around 28 years or so. Just got tired of the snow and, shall we say, the politics. But really research things and not just on CD. Google is my friend lol and you can pull up stats on the various areas so you have a gameplan and know what you're getting into.

Good luck.
