I'm a single mom of two (12 and 9). I have been looking very seriously at a move to Strasburg from Denver. We want a 35 acre lot for animals. I would like to know what there is for kids to do and what the future plans are for Strasburg. We love the country but the city has so much more to offer. The schools seem great and the people at the schools were very friendly--along with the kids- does anyone have any experience with the schools? Any help would be greatly appreciated---this would be a huge move for us. Thanks

Strasburg is a very small town. Like any other small town anywhere, there's nothing for kids to do.
Bennett, about ten miles west of there, has a new recreation center. They are looking at adding a pool and some playing fields, but there's not much else there, either. Strasburg is not incorporated, so there is no town government. Maybe you could call Adams County and see if there is a recreation district that has any planned activities for kids.

What's the future? Right now, nothing! The only thing I know about is a new race track being built east of town. Maybe when the economy turns around in a year or two (hope!) there will be some things start to happen again, probably residential at first until the population increases enough for retail. Beyond the new King Soopers in Bennett, people go into Denver for their shopping.

Holy cow! Bennett has a King Soopers now? That means Bennett is now officially the newest suburb/exurb of Denver!

strasburg is a very good town to live in. the school system there is amazing and offers many sports for children to play even young children could find something to do there. there are two parks in strasburg that are fun for children mattering on the time of day because of loitterers. as a lady before me said tho there is a rec center in bennet with some very good workers and many activities to keep kids busy... i think strasburg is a very good place to live.

I drove through there a few weeks ago. They've got their very own King Soopers. Strasburg looked like it had nicer housing than Bennett from what I saw. Granted I only saw the older part of Bennett.
