My husband is one of the thousands getting laid off because of Obama's plan for the space program. So, we are thinking it is time we just up and move ourselves to Colorado. We don't have specific area in mind, but we are curious what the major companies are. We've done the search on careerbuilder.com and monster.com... but that doesn't tell us what companies take care of their employees. My husband is a software engineer. Thank you for your advice.

If you're husband has a security clearance, then look at Lockheed Martin, Raytheon and other defense contractors located in the Denver area and in Colorado Springs.

If he doesn't have a security clearance, then you might want to look at places like Oracle, Ingenix. Most of the major software companies are represented in Denver.
