I'm going to be flying to Colorado today an planned on skiing A-basin tomorrow and Friday. The weather called for scattered thunderstorms with rain/snow. Should this be mostly snow on the mountain or should I cancel the skiing?

Thursday looks good. There isn't much snow predicted for Friday -- check with them in the am and determine if you want to go.

The weather report you're looking at is probably talking about the whole range of weather for the region which includes the lower elevations. Doubtful there'd be rain at the base which is 10,000 feet and real unlikely there'd be rain at 12,000 feet unless the temps are around 40 deg. So if any precip is gonna happen, it'll be snow on the ski slopes. The mixed rain would occur in Dillon.

Unless the temps happen to rise higher than expected on the upper mountain.

Snowforecast.com forecasts the weather specifically for the ski areas. I've used it for years and they are pretty darned reliable.

I skied A Basin on Tues. It was pretty good, getting soft about 1 PM. There were some thin spots developing. We we left around 3 PM and the temp at the base was 45.
