Default Moving to Lakewood?

Hi, My husband and I are in our mid-twenties and we have looked around and found an apartment complex in Lakewood, Co. It is called The Hamptons. We really love the layout of the apartments and the price! I am just wondering what there is to do in Lakewood. We love to fish, we are not a young partying couple. We don't drink, but we do occasionally like to go out to a nice restuarant and have a glass of wine. We do have a little dog, a min-pin, and would love a park to take him to so he can run around. I personally love flea markets and cheap thrift stores like that. My husband loves sports!!! Is there anyone that can tell me if Lakewood would be fun for us? I just realy would like to know more about the area! Thank you all very much OH! We also love safety! Is this area safe? thanks
