I need your help...Coming to CO...From FL...GET ME OUT OF HERE!
My girlfriend and I (both about to turn 26) are moving out of FL soon... (the sooner the better if you ask me). We have decided on CO and are coming for a quick trip in August to visit possible cities to relocate to. Right now, the top on our list is The Springs, then Fort Collins, then Boulder, but that's a little pricey... I want to know what other cities/suburbs are we forgetting that we should check out?? Locals, please help!! My dad was raised in Loveland, and I've visited there plenty of times. I love Colorado.... Help me get out of Florida!!

It really depends on what you are looking for and what careers you have. Are you looking for a big city like Denver? Or more rural cities like Grand Junction? Suburbs? Fort Collins is a college city, Boulder an upper scale liberal community, The Springs more of an armed forces-conservative city but others are there too. You like flatter areas like Pueblo or mountainy areas like Durango? There is just too much to pinpoint without knowing alot of things about what you want. You can also use the search function on here and type in any city and find alot of info on each place. One thing to do is find a place you like then go and see if you first can find a job before planting your feet there. Should you get the job, then move. Colorado is so diverse it really is hard to say where to look but just go and see what you like. Good luck on your search.

Two of my brothers live in Bradenton. My parents are visiting and they say it's hot and humid there now. Waa!
I don't know what motives are most important to you but if you are wanting the best chances to get your career/carreers going, you might have to consider the Front Range (from Ft. Collins to Denver South-er-Colorado Springs). If money is not an issue, I'd head for the mountains. If you think Boulder is pricey, which it is, then you might have to consider the Western Slope or Southern Colorado. Good luck in the move either way.

well, we are currently in Nursing School for RN's, so I'll have to look at whats available where. We would prefer the mountains (not too far from the slopes) Whats worth checking out on the western slope? I guess we're lookin for cities with mid-sized population. (Denver is probably too crowded... and i've heard bad things about the crime)

Durango sure needs you then. They have a huge new hospital and there are surgery centers, medical centers and so on. It is growing as we speak and there are shortages of doctors and nurses. You pretty much would have jobs from day one. It is a nice mountain city. Lots on here about it, so just use the search function and type in Durango. Good Luck!

Colorado Springs
Check it out. One new hospital just opened. Another opens end of 2007. Search on HOSPITAL to see the info in the threads.
Home prices here are in your $200-300k range. Check zip 80920 or 80921 on REALTOR.com - Real Estate Listings & Homes For Sale
Many other areas around town to choose from. While here, see Old Colorado City and Manitou Springs for cool vibes.

WOW, thanks for all the help... this forum site is awsome, yall are great! I'm really looking forward to visiting in August and moving there in the near future. I'm just ready to move on. I moved to FL from Central CA about 6 months ago, and I'm already eager to move.

RNs needed everywhere
As RNs you can bet you'll be welcome wherever you decide to settle, but wanted to let you know, too, that Medical Center of the Rockies opened Feb. 14th near Loveland at I-25. I think it's a level II trauma facility but I know it's an advanced cardiac care facility.
You're right about all the terrific, helpful folks on this website! It's generally a very friendly, informative place to visit.
