Man I arrived on the 4th and it was very cold, but then the next day it was just beautiful. The weather was incredible. Im back in Austin Gathering my stuff and its so hot, I wanna die. I did have a real bad head ache the first day. I was told it was altitude sicknesss. I drank a bunch of water and it went away. So bring warm cloths, t shirts and water.

I've seen it snow every month of the year in Colorado. Scraped an inch of frost off of my sleeping bag on July 4th one year. Like sunburn? Takes about 15 minutes at 10,000 feet. Thunderstorms about every afternoon in the summer in the mountains--they can drop the temperature 40 degrees in minutes. Colorado rain ain't warm (often is solid--hail). Diurnal (day to night) temperature differences can be as much as 50 degrees or more in some locales. Temperatures drop about 5 to 10 degrees for every thousand feet of elevation change. Places in sight of one another (and relaltively few miles apart) can be up to 8,000 feet or more DIFFERENT in elevation.
Most of the old-line cowboys (who spend just about all of their time outside) I know in Colorado wear long-sleeve shirts (actually cooler in the sun) and jeans year 'round.
So, yes, bring long sleeves, jeans, and jackets. Dress in layers.

where are you living and what are you planning on doing while you are here?
Weather can be hot, wet, cold, and anywhere in between.
socks, sneakers, sandals, flip flop, hiking boots, tee's, jeans, shorts, swim suits, raincoats, hat, sunglasses...all appropriate for summer in Colorado

We will be staying in Boulder. Lots of hiking and just hanging out. My son will be attending camp during the week as well.

Boulder is an interesting place, good pick for a month's vacation. Near a lot of activities.
Check this site: The Colorado Chautauqua Association - A National Historic Landmark for cool shows and events in an historic facility. Picnic on the grounds....loaf of bread, bottle of wine...
Golden is a great visit too. Coors Brewery tour, RR Museum, Lookout Mountain, Jefferson County (Jeffco) Fairgrounds. Nice old downtown with real places to eat, not chain food junk. Most Saturday mornings you can see a huge all-girl equestrian drill team practicing at Jeffco, awesome sight.
Get up to Estes Park, ride the tram car to the top of the mountain, see the elk, go through Rocky Mountain Park, stunning scenery.
Grand Lake is incredible. The town and lake are both gems. Paddle boats and water taxi's.... Ride horses in the wilderness at Winding River Resort or take a cabin overnight, near the source of the Colorado River.
Denver has a ton of things to see/do. Beginning 22 June, the Denver Museum of Nature & Science has an exhibit of artifacts from the SS Titanic. Tons more stuff here. The 16th Street Pedestrian Mall is a no-car walking area of 1.5+ miles of eateries, bars, shopping and fun, with a free bus that stops at every corner. North end of the this mall is at the light rail line station at Union Station in the LoDo area. In this same area, a few blocks either way, are Coors Stadium where the Rockies play and the Pepsi Center, where tons of shows come to town.
Manitou Springs, just west of Colorado Springs, is a funky bohemian place. Also has a cog train to the top of Pikes Peak. Our zoo has a huge giraffe population, you can feed them. See the photos at:

Sunday Brunch at the Broadmoor is NOT to be missed. Legendary resort here in Colorado Springs.
Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, chapstick, and a hat to keep sun off face/neck. Drink plenty of water. Maybe a squeeze bottle of saline for the nasal passageways, which can dry out quickly here (as in ANY arid or semi-arid climate). Simple moisturizer lotion for the skin is fine, we use it often. No big deal, similar to a day at the beach. Millions live here, most of us take these simple precautions.
You're gonna love Colorado.

This state is quite frankley the best state I have visited. I love the Co springs area. Garden of the Gods..WOW. The zoo with the View and the giraffes that eat out of your hands. Pikes Peak is Awesome. One question, my wife and I love to rent ski boats for some boating fun. Where can I do this close to Colorado springs, or at least where would be the closest even if not that close to The Springs? BTW I agree with the nose spay idea. Oh, and bring good shoes, because you can not visit this place with out wanting to hike it, even if your a couch potato like me.
