We already pay taxes, in the form of Federal Income Taxes, that pay for these lands.
They also receive income from Oil & Gas companies through land leases for exploration and production.
This is just another grab, albeit smaller but deeper, into our pockets.

I'll just stick to the 13er's and lower and then it's not an issue. The 14ers are already wayyy too crowded with tourists who just want bragging rights.

Probably a fee box at the trailhead with an occasional fee collector at the more popular trailheads... Like they do with many other day use areas already.

Actually there already IS tax on firewood any time you buy it commercially, and it's often ILLEGAL to collect it on public lands.

well first, this is the US forest service, so state taxes don't apply. second, federal taxes keep going down. we are now paying our lowest tax rates since the 1950s.
