must try food/ restaurants in Columbia
So we have been in Columbia for almost a month now and haven't really tried any good restaurants yet! Wondering if there are any outstanding places that deliver something besides pizza and chinese (although will take suggestions for pizza and chinese too!) Also, kid-friendly places that are a must try in Columbia. Oh, and don't forget the nice restaurants for when we might get to go out for a date night when the grandparents are in town. Thanks guys!!! btw, for "date night" it doesn't have to be too fancy but also not looking for a party scene!

We had a thread going a while back where we were listing some of our favorite spots by type. That might be handy, since you could sort the suggestions out by what you're in the mood for (country cookin', Chinese, Italian, etc).
Here it is:

Thanks Ceezer!
Waccamatt- Well, I really prefer to eat anything other than pizza and chinese but there are those nights where it seems easier to order in. I love to cook so we don't go out a lot but we do enjoy eating delicious food out every once in a while. When we do go out we want something that is going to be worthwhile ! I love almost anything. I would be most interested in finding a great sushi restaurant, Japanese hibachi, Italian, tapas, etc. I guess I was just looking for the best of Columbia. Where do I go to get the best steak, sushi, burger, and so on! I will check this other thread that was posted! It may answer my questions!!!

Date night -- Blue Marlin in the Vista (seafood) or Diane's on Devine (Italian). We've done special occasions at both and they were wonderful.

Or, I would think, The Melting Pot.

It's not exactly fine dining, but I love the roof top of the Ale House in the Vista.
