Default Advice on Deerwood/Rosewood neighborhood

Hey there,
Can anyone tell me about the neighborhood around Deerwood and Rosewood? Is it safe? We would like to rent a place there. We are living out of the country at the moment so we are unable to go look at anything. I am familiar with the Shandon area but not too familiar to Rosewood so close to Beltline. Any info will be much appreciated! Thanks.

Generally speaking, the areas of the Rosewood neighborhood closer to Rosewood Drive (next to Shandon) would be the most desirable parts. Of course, they are also the more expensive part, but less expensive than Shandon.

There are also parts of Rosewood that are not very attactive. You have to look around.

Rosewood & Deerwood is right by Midlands Tech College. Neighborhoods in Columbia seem to be a tough call, they change quickly in a matter of blocks from very nice to not so nice. Rosewood seems to get better the further away from Assembly you get, I live right by Rosewood Elementary and it is pretty nice so far. Behind me are some very nice houses, its the south end of Shandon. You really need to go and see a house or have someone who's judgement you trust check out the very specific neighborhood though. Like I said it seems to change quickly from block to block.
