My daughter is also out-of-state and has absolutely loved it! She is a double major -- finance and economics (minoring in Chinese) and feels it has been a great experience. She decided not to go IB route but she experienced the IB atmosphere with a study abroad in Taiwan.
Remember, the International Business program is
extremely competitive. You may be accepted initially into the Moore School as a IB major but after freshman (or sometime in sophomore year I don't remember exactly) you have to specifically apply to that program and it is DIFFICULT.
And, it is a "fun" school, too. There's always something going on in Columbia and, especially if you get involved in Greek Life.
So, keep working really hard and best of luck to you!
And, Columbiadata -- you are right! It has been a great time for my daughter -- All the attention the business school is getting, winning the Carolina-Clemson football game two years in a row, the College World Series . . . even the blood drive the last two years!
Go Gamecocks!
