Smile looking for off -campus housing to rent

I am new grad student starting USC this fall. Looking for a one bedroom apartment to rent that is within the 400 - 500 /month price range with utilities included.
Does anyone know of any good places that are renting? Also, are there places that should be avoided, I am not too familiar with Columbia as I am coming from out of state.
Thanks
New to Columbia

Try Cornell Arms, an older highrise across the street from the Horseshoe. Their rents include utilities so you might be able to find a one bedroom in that range, otherwise try Clare Tower on Senate at Marion.

I would pick up an apt finder and also look at sites online if you havent already done so. I just graduated from USC. Many college students rent off of Broad River but I would not personally reccommend that area. Its over crowded and getting a little high on crime. Cornell Arms is nice as waccamatt mentioned. Im not sure how you feel about rooming with anyone but many students opt to do the College Suites, University Oaks. They are very close to the USC football stadium and if Im not mistake it will run about 400-500 per person per month. Hope that helps.

Do you have an apartment finder guide? There is a whole section on housing in that price range for students.
If you don't have one I can make a list of those to help you out.
