The University of South Carolina has decided to build a new home for its beleaguered law school downtown, dominating a block between Senate and Gervais streets.

The new building will have 186,000 square feet and cost $75 million, said Rob Wilcox, the new law school dean, who expects to oversee the move from the school’s current Main Street building.

Yeah, I don't know if that's right either. I know the University has owned that site for years, but I don't think the definite decision to build the Law School there was made until now...

Whether they put it to a formal vote back then or not, they went as far as to say it would be built there and provided the very same rendering as they are providing now. No changes.

What will happen to the old law school? I was hoping they would build close to the new school of business. Carolina is building some great new buildings, the architecture of the new buildings compliments the Historic Horseshoe well.

Awe shucks. Now my dad won't be able to be so nostalgic every time we go to USC. He always points out the law school and where he studied and lived and all that jazz. xD
