Main Street in Columbia is not downtown Columbia by a long shot.
In downtown Columbia the Vista generated between 1.3 and 1.4 million dollars in hospitality tax revenue last year. Five Points was second at between 578,000 and 679,000 dollars. The Main Street area generated from 355,000 to 380,000 dollars. All three areas are growing, but just because Main Street is starting to get a buzz doesn't mean the Vista or Five Points is going to slow down. That's a good thing. Harbison's figures weren't readily available according to the attached article, but it's not part of downtown.
