I am the proud owner of a beat-up bicycle. What are some good places around here to ride it?

Residential neighborhoods (where the side streets all connect), along the river, bike trails, what have you. It's all good, as long as there's beautiful scenery and I don't have to deal with heavy traffic.

I've already biked around the downtown neighborhood some... further recommendations?

Thanks,
Frank

I like bicycling in Shandon, Rosewood, Riverfront Park and I know people that go to Harbison State Forest off Broad River Road.

Fort Jackson has a great reputation for bicycling. Good scenery at times, you can even get to see the poor recruits being worked out.

Four deer bounced across my path, the last one missing me by just feet, when I was flying down a hill on a paved bicycle path there one day! Recently I read that a bicyclist was attacked by a deer in the same situation. Maybe I was moving too fast. It felt like it.
