Looking into a position at the nuclear plant near Jenkinsville. Looking for a family orientated area to live. Looks like Chapin is the closest to the plant. Would like to hear more about the area.
we've lived in the Chapin area for 3 yrs; and like what we have here. Though we dont have children in the schools, we've been told the system ( and District 5 in general ) is among the better in the state. Chapin can give that smaller town feel, but maybe 15 mins to the Irmo/mall area for more shopping and eating options. Chapin's maybe 30 mins from downtown Columbia depending on traffic. And being near/on the lake was important to us when we relocated here.
We consider it a nice burb of Columbia, maybe long term residents could give more info but we're happy with our decision to live here.
