Does anyone have any information on the new Bridgestone plant in Aiken, SC?

Jobs?
When will it be completed?

Thanks!

Expansion on the existing plant has already started I believe. The 2nd plant is supposed to start in 2013 and all are to be completed by 2020 (built in phases). The first wave of new jobs is in late 2012/early 2013. All total, 850 new jobs are supposed to come.

Thanks again Tiger17. Has there been any information on the pay scale for these jobs?

Jobs will pay "up to" $24/hr, but I'm sure that's the exception rather than the rule. The pay scale will supposedly mirror that of the current plant, but Bridgestone hasn't commented on average pay or anything like that. Bridgestone initiatives will create 850 jobs - Business - TheState.com (http://www.thestate.com/2011/09/22/1980345/bridgestone-pledges-12-billion.html - broken link)

Other than the link provided above, I really don't know. I know 2 people that work out there in production. Both were hired in at $13/hour. They get lots of overtime opportunities.
