Default So what exactly IS the Carolina Cup?

I've looked into it a little bit (I know it's horse racing) but would it be a fun thing for me and my GF to go to on the way to the beach?

What all does it entail?

Thanks!

It's an all-day affair for most folks. An excuse to put on a bowtie and a seersucker suit and drink bourbon. Plenty of fun, but probably not the sort of thing to just drop in on.

It is more precisely a steeplechase horse race. I have never been - it is very much an event for the fraternity and sorority set, junior leaguers and that type of group. Not my cup of tea.

^ Exactly what he said. An enormous group of well dressed people that drink heavily all day long. It's an excuse for guys to wear bowties and girls to wear huge fancy hats. It's a pretty big event... But not my cup of tea either.

I went one year not knowing what it was like. It's pretty much a giant tailgate. It's best enjoyed with a big group of people. Also bring chairs..
