Possible move to Columbia area from Florida
We are possibly relocating from central Florida to columbia. We are originally from New York and have only lived in FL for 1 year. We have found out quickly that we miss the seasons and have decided to leave once our son graduates kindergarden. We do not want to live in NY as we have realized we want to give our children more than just a NYC apartment with little to no yard at all. We are torn between Richmond, VA and Columbia, SC. We have visited both many times and really enjoy both areas! We have family in SC so that would ease that move abit. We are looking to rent in a nicer neighborhood with nearby parks and shopping and are looking to rent in the price range of $900-$1200. My job affords me to transfer to either state and my wife works in e-commerce while being a stay at home mom for our younger child. Any help on areas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I work in telecommunications. My base is located in columbia but I do installs all over the place within a 25 mile radius. I only need to go into the office once or twice a week.

Do you want to live in the city or in one of the surrounding areas? I would google "houses for rent columbia sc" and look in your rental range and map them. Once you find some square footage and rental prices you like, someone can tell you more about each area if you tell us where they are.

Do you want to live in a walkable area close to stores, restaurants, etc or would you rather live in a suburban area?

Irmo could be a good fit, or possibly NE Columbia. Look at zip codes 29212/29063 first.
