It's coming down to the wire and we're seriously having trouble finding a rental that will allow us to have our 75 pound 5 year old neutered black lab. It's ridiculous how many places allow yippy small dogs (25 pound restriction) but not our calm dog who sleeps all day and would never hurt a fly.

We are looking in the St. Andrews/Irmo area as my bf is starting a job with Intel soon. Would like to be within 15 or less minutes from there ideally.

ANY help is appreciated. We would like at least 2 bedrooms and 850+ sq ft, A/C, and W/D, DW, range, fridge included. Apartment, house, townhouse, etc. Max rent looking at is about 1000 a month, but up to 1200 if really the perfect place. Since a quick find rental probably won't be our IDEAL long term living solution an available 6 month lease would be ideal.

A large dog MUST be allowed even with crazy pet fees/extra deposits. Also, no roach infested places or old folk's homes...

Please help! We live 3000 miles away right now and can't do tours on a whim and all the places we like get rented before we can even set up a tour!

my sister is relocating down here, and has a 40# beagle and a 75+# older/heavier golden and was able to find a couple places (though she was looking mostly in Lexington areas) that would accept her larger dog. While some may have had a policy that stated none over 50 or 60#s they did seem to make exceptions based on the dog, it's temperment, etc.
Perhaps try 'apartmentguide.com' for searching locations in the various communities as most should list their pet requirements online.

I have a house for rent but it is at the top end of your budget.

I suggest you check out Cantey & Company, Inc., they're a reputable property manager in town and they should have decent selection of pet-friendly properties (plus they post lots of pictures of their houses).
