Default Vehicle Tax

If my vehicle has been paid off this year will my vehicle tax be less than the $237 I got billed for. My car is a 2004 Toyota. I heard this from someone but wanted to know for sure. I'm in Lexington County. Thanks

It will go down because it's older, but not because you paid it off.

Not this year but next when school tax is removed. Tax is based on value not amount owed.

Usually, the amount of tax will go down every year. If the car has high mileage you may be able to get the tax reduced with a statement from a dealer or mechanic.
