LOL, I just found it funny to feature a photo of 2 middle aged white men in an article about an award for diversity.

Columbia Metropolitan Airport is air-cargo-central for South Carolina, up nearly 28% from the same month last year and handling nearly twice as much freight as Charleston and Greenville's airports combined. Airline passenger counts continue to increase, too.

Yes, we made changes to our business model but the true differentiator is the support we’ve gotten from the public,” Mann said. “And when the people take action by checking our fares first and making CAE their preferred choice for air travel it sends a loud and clear message that this community can, and will, do what it takes to prove to airlines that we can support more service.” - Dan Mann, Airport Director

Southwest Airlines continues to drop routes at GSP. Every route except GSP to Atlanta has now been dropped. There will be three flights daily on this route.

With Southwest shrinking at GSP, its future there is uncertain, and the likelihood of them adding Columbia is low

It'd be a low likelihood anyway, they're in Charleston and now in Charlotte; proximity to Charlotte I'm sure played somewhat into what's happening with them at GSP.

Well the appeal of having them in Columbia was as the country's premier low-cost carrier but that's hardly the case anymore. Columbia would probably do better to lure Frontier or Spirit honestly.

Wasn't Spirit here and left, or was it just Allegiant?

I'd rather have high speed rail, but it looks like that will be way down the road. #USinfrastructuresucks

Spirit was here as well.

I don't know why anyone would fly Spirit unless it was at gunpoint.
