Columbia Metropolitan Airport is air-cargo-central for South Carolina, up nearly 28% from the same month last year and handling nearly twice as much freight as Charleston and Greenville's airports combined. Airline passenger counts continue to increase, too.

With Southwest shrinking at GSP, its future there is uncertain, and the likelihood of them adding Columbia is low
It'd be a low likelihood anyway, they're in Charleston and now in Charlotte; proximity to Charlotte I'm sure played somewhat into what's happening with them at GSP.

Well the appeal of having them in Columbia was as the country's premier low-cost carrier but that's hardly the case anymore. Columbia would probably do better to lure Frontier or Spirit honestly.

Wasn't Spirit here and left, or was it just Allegiant?
I don't know why anyone would fly Spirit unless it was at gunpoint.
