Who said anything about comparing the areas ? Having lived in both areas, I realize they are totally different and not to compare, but its not the only places I have ever lived. And this is based on my opinion and yes taste, but that is what these forums are about. I feel like I have said very positive about this area...& answered the questions that were asked!

I'm not trying to be confrontational with you or anyone else on this site. I probably just assumed too much and should have asked a question directly to you instead of reacting the way i did. I'm just on this site to help, give my comments and laugh at some of the down right silly things people say....[Like how it seems like many people from the Charleston and Greenville area's will convey Columbia like it's "a hot dust bowl stuck in the middle of nowhere"....lol]. I know Columbia nor SC isn't for everyone and the abillity to have 50 states with numbers cities and demographic make-ups is what makes the U.S. such a great place to live in. I wish you all the happiness in your future....i just like to view my city in a positive light because it's already hard enough to discourage the negative images that the media and other states have of us.

I'm not sure what you consider cheap, but try craigslist: columbia, SC classifieds for jobs, apartments, personals, for sale, services, community, and events
A lot of rentals posted there.
