Also at the village at sandhills is an Aveda salon called Wisteria. A little pricey and hard to get an app't but really great.

Go to a barber, salons can't cut mens hair the right way. I am in barber school, but really they have no clipper training.

Hi there
Established and experienced Hair salons please????????????
First, I must say a quick hello to: Settlepa, How are you and yours? Will be down by Christmas Yeah Much thanks to you and all the wonderful info and leads. And of course all who have been so kind in answering my many questions (smile)
Secondly on topic here: can anyone pleeeeese tell me where to go for an experienced and great salon? Ladies??? Can you please help me here? You know how we women are with our hair(I'd like to atleast, 'feel' human with all the stress of moving to a new area lol). Sounds silly maybe to some, but I will miss where I go now here up north. Looking for a salon that actually knows how to color, highlight, perm, cut and style. Been through that trial and err phase with way too many inexperienced hair stylist in my time and well, I'm too old for that anymore (smile). Nothing better than word of mouth
Please ladies or men, offer some info. so that I can keep some of the sanity I have left (have kids-ROFL)
Thanks again
Looking forward to beautiful places smiling faces

I go to Moda Salon on State Street in West Columbia. I have followed one of the stylists there to various salons for over 20 years and they have a lot of color and permanent experience.

Hi Cantwaittomove! So where are you moving here from? I am from NE PA/NY area. Moved here 2.5 years ago and love it!!! I was TERRIFIED when I moved here because I have only ever trusted my mom with my hair. I have long curly hair that can be tough to deal with at times, plus I get it highlighted. Luckily I can say that I have been so blessed with finding an AWESOME hair stylist. She's at Salon 2000, PM me and I will give you her name and phone number if you's like. I can ever send you some pictures if you'd like! LOL I've never had a problem with worrying if she will cut too much off os my hair or not color it correctly. She's just awesome! She's got long hair herself so she knows how it is. :-)

I hate to ask this, but are you looking for a stylist/barber with experience with black or caucasian hair? Because the list of referrals would be vastly different depending on what sort of hair you have.
