I would have thought Anderson had more gross metropolitan product than that.

Did you notice that Anderson County wouldn't return to peak employment until 2018 or later?

Doesn't that mean the Greenville-Anderson-Mauldin GMP will grow more slowly than the Greenville-Mauldin-Easley GMP would have?

Another future Kroger store popped up and is on the books for downtown Columbia. That makes three stores 'officially' in the works for columbia (two located downtown) worth 400 plus jobs.

Other than the one going in place of the blowfish stadium where is the 2nd one going? Maybe replacing just shuttered Aldi in Cayce?

I would not be surprised to see Kroger make a major move on South Carolina. There have been whispers for a couple of years that they have their sights set on acquiring Bilo. If you pay attention to what's been happening lately you can see where that is a likely scenario.

I know the Kroger on Forest is gearing up for a big renovation. They've got some things marked ridiculously down as it looks like they'll halve the store in order to keep it open during the work. According to the woman I talked to there, it should resemble the Kroger that is way down Two Notch.

That's good to hear. That store really needed a facelift.

I heard the same thing about the one in Irmo. They're going to move Hemingways to the corner of the shopping center and take that space too.
