May I ask WHY you have choosen Gilbert? The Schools here are rapidly going down hill. Once many years ago the schools were great but now teachers are only worried about the end of the year testing because they are forced to teach the test. I see many kids that have very little knowledge for the things they should at their age and I have spoken to teachers that are quitting because they feel that the kids aren't getting educated they are getting taught the state test. It is sad, very sad. So don't be fooled to think you are getting into some prize school system where the teachers really care about teaching the kids something because it is just like most other schools all they care about it the test results at the end of the year.
I know several kids that graduated last year,1 of which I was talking to and she was looking at a picture of Water Buffalo and she asked if those were Elk. Another I have spoken to think that there is island off the coast of SC. And the lack of ability of these kids to spell simple words,do simple math will scare you.

Crime is up in the Gilbert area. We have issues where police know that there drug activity going on yet if you call them when you see a drug deal happening within a couple of miles from the school they don't show up for hours. Oh and check the registered sex offenders list there are several living right at the schools well I guess you should say within 5 miles of the school.
There are lots of drug and prostitution issues in Gilbert, its their dirty little secret. And my lord at the small town politics. If you weren't born and raised here and don't know all the people and their kids they act like you have 3 heads.
We moved here from NC 4yrs ago and thought this was some great place but it has went down very quickly. In fact we are moving in March and will be doing Owner financing on our home that is less than 5 miles from all the Gilbert schools.
