Once a building gets upfitted, the likelihood of it changing hands again and changing into another concept is greater. All in all, this is a good development.
I was hoping for retail in that spot instead of another restaurant. Oh well, this is better than nothing.

I feel you on that. I'll take any development on Main, but more retail would be welcome.

I hate to even bring this up, but I am still holding out hope that Apple will make its Midlands debut on Main. That idea seems ridiculous to me a few years ago, but now seems possible (if perhaps a bit unlikely).

I thought I was going to have to find the Apple store in Charleston the other night after I left my iPhone in the break room at work. I panicked, then welled up and shed a tear, and then vaguely recalled having taken it in the break room and hoped for honest co-workers. The next day my phone was in the office at work. Thank God almighty. I don't know when I'll need that Apple store now.

Wow, quite contemporary...I like it!

If only they could get rid of the overhead power lines in the process...

Never had shake shack myself, but have only heard good things about it. Not would I would necessarily like to see on that corner, but not an awful option either.

Edit: They seem to locate in larger/trendy cities. If Columbia, is on their radar, that only seems like good news to me. Seems unlikely though.

The architecture in the pic is certainly reminiscent of what's depicted in the rendering though.
