Default US Foods CHEF'STORE

I just saw today that US Foods is opening their third CHEF'STORE on St. Andrews Rd. just off of 26. Although it's definitely targeted towards restaurants (unless you really need a 50 lb bag of onions), I love to see vacant buildings get reused.

Good luck to them. St. Andrews just had the Kroger up the road close and now the Food Lion down the road is closing as well.

Out with the old, in with the new. I see they have a store in Lexington. Are they adding this store or relocating?

CHEF'STORE seems to be a new concept. This is only their third location, after Charlotte and Oklahoma City.

Their location in Lexington appears to be more of a distribution center, this looks to be more of a retail location.

It looks like a whole new concept. My understanding is typically restaurants place their food orders, which then get delivered by truck. This is instead a retail location where they can actually browse the products or make last minute purchases if they run out of something, forgot to order something, etc. The first one opened in Charlotte back in December.

EDIT: TXGamecock beat me to it

If you pass the facility in Lexington off of Exit 55 (I-20) it is indeed a distribution center near Golden State Foods and the tire plant.
