Pop's pizza is good, I will vouch for it. I ate at Schiano's tonight and it was equally good, however.

MellowMushroom?
There's a Mellow Mushroom in Asheville. Do you know if it's connected to the one in Columbia? The A'ville one has just OK food but survives on its great location.

There is a Mellow Mushroom in Columbia and it's in the Vista area. I wouldn't say that the Columbia location survives because of it's location though. All of the locations are connected though because it's a franchise based out of Atlanta. Some locations have 1 or 2 different types of food from the others on the menu...but pretty much it's the same...

I'll be trying Schiano's this week. If it is lame, I'll just wait until I go back to Brooklyn for the holidays to enjoy some NY pizza.

Forget about finding a decent pizza here. Sorry. I am coming to the conclusion that there is no good food to be had in this town unless you cook at home. What passes for Mexican is a joke and so is the pizza situation. I have had some really poor Chinese as well. I give up.

I have to disagree with sunstate; there is plenty of good pizza and chinese. I've already listed some good pizza places and for Chinese all of the Miyo's and M Cafe locations are good and so is Sesame Inn. If you go to one of those POS shopping center Chinese buffets, yeah, it won't be good.

I'll put my two cents in for Schianos as well. I found their pizza to be very tasty and crust cook very well. Best I have found in NE Columbia so far

If Schianos is in the Harbison area, I have tried it and they do not make their dough at the site and the sauce is canned. These two things make a poor pizza. I saw a place that has "brick oven" on the sign that I am going to try soon. I tried Sum Ming chinese (bad, bad, bad), I tried Zorba's (another bad experience). People here think Maurice's has good Q...hush puppies with BBQ? What the heck is that all about? A grease filled mess.

Try Pop's in Five Points if you didn't like Schiano's. Maurice's? Most people don't eat there. For Chinese go to Miyo's or M Cafe.
