Thanks!

And clemson has been very good these last few years, best tiger teams since Danny Ford, IMO.

Can we leave it off at this, please?

The time for South Carolina to build its football stadium downtown was 80 years ago. Before Williams-Brice Stadium was built, they played at Melton Field, where the Russell House is located now. Had the university decided to take over the entire block surrounded by Sumter, Bull, Greene and Blossom and put the football field in the dead center of that block, there would be room for a stadium as large as necessary. As for where everyone would park...

I think they were better overall in the Whitehurst years. 63-17, remember, never lost to SC.

When Clemson starts having regular 1 win seasons then SC can try to argue they are better. and like I pointed out SC went 1-3 against Arkansas in same time frame as 4-0 against Clemson.

Here is something interesting that ESPN wrote up in 2009 or so, looks like prior to SC making its first SEC championship game:

Here's what we came up with:

Ranking the SEC programs, 2000-2009
Team Total W-L W-L vs SEC W-L vs Top 25 Bowl W-L Top 25 finish Top 10 finish SEC title games SEC titles Nat'l titles
Florida 99-30 64-20 35-21 4-5 9 4 4 3 2
LSU 99-30 58-26 31-20 7-2 7 5 4 3 2
Georgia 97-31 57-26 30-22 7-2 9 6 3 2 0
Auburn 87-39 53-29 22-21 5-3 6 2 2 1 0
Tennessee 83-43 51-32 18-28 3-4 6 1 3 0 0
Alabama 78-48 47-35 19-27 3-3 3 2 2 1 0
Arkansas 70-54 37-45 15-32 1-5 1 0 2 0 0
S. Carolina 68-53 37-43 14-29 3-2 2 0 0 0 0
Ole Miss 62-58 33-47 11-22 3-1 2 0 0 0 0
Miss. State 42-76 20-60 7-30 2-0 1 0 0 0 0
Kentucky 50-69 20-60 3-35 3-0 0 0 0 0 0
Vanderbilt 34-83 13-67 5-34 1-0 0 0 0 0 0

It was a tough call between Arkansas and South Carolina for the No. 7 spot and equally difficult to choose between Kentucky and Mississippi State for the No. 10 spot. The Hogs were 6-4 against the Gamecocks this decade and made two appearances to the Gamecocks’ none in the SEC championship game. Those were the two factors that made the difference for Arkansas.

Me again: As I've been pointing out, Ark. and SC pretty even programs yet Ark has owned that rivalry last 4 years going 3-1, which kind of negates the Clemson wins.

SC fans need to just focus on UNC cuz that isn't going to be an easy game for them. I'm predicting UNC takes it and it isn't going to be an upset, and it is going to snowball from there for USC this year.

I thought this was interesting, from ESPN:

It seems as though the Gamecocks have accomplished everything in the past three years but win the SEC. They've gone 11-1 against rivals Clemson, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee, but have found ways to slip up along the way the last two years. There was the stunning 16-13 loss against Auburn in 2011 and the four-turnover slop-fest in the Swamp last year.

You can't do much better than 11-1 against Clemson, Florida, UGA and Tenn yet not even 1 SEC title in the 3 year run? LOL really you could make a case that SC is a choker team the past 3 years. I would think if Clemson went 11-1 against SC, FSU, Ga Tech, NC State in 3 years we would have won at least 2 ACC titles and probably 3 in a row.

Boy, you really should stick to playing engineering, your last sentence is the difference between the ACC and SEC and why wining the ACC gets you a date with the Big East in a half empty South Florida stadium. Clemson has had some decent teams but is nowhere on the level where you should be talking trash, especially to a team that just came off the 4th win in a row with backup skill players. Clemson has done well the past few seasons since Morris came over, he is a good coach. But, for you to sit here and talk trash with half truths shows you are just trolling and know nothing about what is going on in the SEC. The title of this thread that you created is about Williams Brice, either stick to your 80 year late topic or quit posting stupid garbage.

You will bring up history which means you aren't doing anything at the moment. It is the same logic as "I once had a good job so I will tell you how crappy you are", a loser mentality, cuz.

Do you have a job?

Why are you and your leftwing clones all up in my personal business on here? If you are some finance guy on the trading floor as you claim, what is your job exactly? Just a mooch as far as I can see, not creating anything of value yourself. A lot of people are out of work right now under your hero Obama's leadership so I think trying to beat up on people out of work seems to be poor form but not surprising from somebody who voted for that guy b/c you guys clearly don't care about people other than yourselves.

I'm not talking trash, I'm responding to the 4 year trash talk about gamecock fans like you who think your program is top shelf despite not really doing that much in reality. It was gamecock fans who wanted to make this about the Clemson rivalry and I am able to talk about that pretty well.

the big east beat Florida last year in a bowl game if I remember correctly, Lousville trounced Florida. The bowl tie ins are really biased toward SEC, with like 5th place SEC team getting matched up with 2nd place ACC team in the Peach Bowl, that kind of thing. This kind of stacked seeding prior to a season is why high school kids think SEC is better so it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.

I think USC lost to Connecticut in a bowl game just a few years ago so can't realy talk too much about Big East. I'd be surprised if many of the big east teams did not have better historic records than SC.
