Columbia's got swag. And they don't even mention Whole Foods and Trader Joe's.

They probably need to talk to you. Sometimes it takes outsiders to see.

College towns and state capitals typically fare well on these sorts of lists.

My boss just sent this around to everyone, it seemed like an odd mix of cities to me.

Again, you'll see a lot of small-to-midsized state capitals and college towns make these sorts of lists, especially for cost-of-living purposes. Recently a lot of these cities have appeared on "best cities to retire in" lists.

Good in depth article on Columbia. I've always thought Little Rock, Arkansas and Columbia share a lot in common. Not surprised to see them together.

And does the "7 major hospitals" they note include the one they're building in Irmo, right off I-26?

Palmetto Richland, Palmetto Baptist, Providence Downtown, Providence Northeast, Lexington Medical Center, Moncrief Army Hospital and the Dorn VA Hospital equals seven. The new Palmetto Northwest Hospital will make 8.
