Are there any great Pizza places that can compare to New York pizza? Would love to hear any suggestions.

I would second Pizza Man. The store is old and not always the cleanest. But if you can get past that, the pizza is the closest I've found to true NY pizza.

Tried Dano's. Although it looked promising, it was definitely missing some flavor. I was dissappointed after reading the reviews. I'll definitely try the other 2 in the near future. Thanks.

I've always been partial to Pizza Man or Village Idiot.

The place that used to be Pops (I can't remember the new name) in Five Points has the best New York Style Pizza in town. Pizza Man and Dano's aren't what I call NY style pizza. Schiano's also has good NY style pizza and they have several locations.

Default place that used to be pops went under

But there's a new pizza place on Greene street across from the post office next to Ultratan that is better anyway. Not rave worthy but place that used to pops was meh-the bottom of the pizzas were often burned. There also was no or bad a/c in that building so the good news is they'll likely have to spruce up the space to attract a tenant as the way it is now will not cut it.

The best NY pizza comes from holes in the wall.

My favorite pizza in Columbia right now is at Uncle Maddio's. It isn't NY style, though.

What about a place to get a good deep dish pizza?

A friend of mine from NYC raves about a place on Forest Drive. I will have to get the name of the place from him.
