Amazing, though, the number of new posters who mention the Florence area ...

That Hilton is not an inexpensive hotel. They want $107 plus taxes per night.

Amazing, thought, how you know so much about me and what an awesome pretentious personality you have, which is surprising since you live in Lynchburg.

I don't expect miracles from a place, I just don't want to get into say what I ran into in Albany NY last year staying in a Motel 6 like five minutes from where I worked. I went out to a bar for a while at night and came back to my non-smoking room to a hallway so loaded with not just smoke, but marijuana smoke, that it made my eyes water. The crowd that turned up was not what I wanted to hang around with. But, that was a Saturday night, too. (I've stayed in other Motel 6's with no issue whatsoever).

There's always the knockout game to look out for, too.

Two Notch road seems to be reasonable enough, I see a Maurice's BBQ, a Bojangles, and a Waffle House all near the hotels, too, so meals are pretty well taken care of.

Not sure what I will do in Florence, the Days Inn South is now a Travellodge - which means it's come down a notch in the corporate chain, so I doubt it's improved (the unit that was the TL last year, is closed for remodeling now). But that's another subject.

You should check out the ThunderBird Motor Inn in Florence. That is a landmark in Florence. LOL

Well, I had no issue in the Two Notch Road Microtel, it was clean and had no bad crowd hanging around. Unless you count the probably stray cat prowling the dumpster the first night. But he was friendly -

And that one is far enough from the tracks only a light sleeper would notice the trains. I was surprised because it's really not that far, the sound just doesn't carry very well.

There is a Wingate at exit 61 off of I-20 in Lexington, I have had a few my my business associates stay there. Reasonable in cost and very nice area. Clean, safe and good food close by, Chili's, McDonald's, Waffle House, Hardies, Taco Bell. Lexington side of the metro area is a bit nicer than the Columbia side of the area, at least in my opinion... Anything on Two Notch rd can be a bit uncertain. Two Notch rd does not have a good reputation...

To me, it sounds like this guy doesn't want to spen more than $75 a night for a hotel. Any of the major brand mid-tiers are going to be well past that. He needs a Super 8, Motel 6, Day's Inn or similar. i would suggest the airport area right off I-26. Mostly travelers. And lower priced options.
