Between Darius Rucker's popularity in country music (that I haven't followed at all) and the statement he made recently that he and the Blowfish were going to reunite, I'll bet that's it.

Let's make something up until we know for sure.

Yes, it's Paul McCartney. Just because I haven't kept up with him doesn't mean he's not huge, and it's good for South Carolina.

I just read that this is his only stop in the Southeast, so yes, that makes it huge.

It IS huge, but it's not his only stop in the Southeast. He'll also be playing in Charlottesville, VA two days earlier, and was in Greensboro, Louisville, Atlanta, etc. last fall.

But when you look at the other summer dates the guy is playing... Amsterdam, Paris, London, Oslo, Stockholm, Liverpool, Seoul, Philly, Chicago (Lollapalooza)... it's amazing for Columbia to be on that list.

Columbia really is a great location for an act with international draw due to its being in a truly optimal location for people coming from Atlanta, Charlotte, and even Florida. And the colonial center is a great venue to see a concert since it's not too big. Remember Elton John performed there a few years after it was opened. I wish he'd come back.

I still say we'll truly know we've arrived when Madonna books CLA.

The band never broke up. They still play together. As a matter of fact, they are playing this summer in the Family Circle Cup on Daniel Island this summer.
