So, now there is ANOTHER church, this one on Kennerly road, that thinks it's parishioners are somehow more important than locals who need to use the road.

They have hired cops to block the road so that they can get in and out of their church without bothering to wait for traffic as they are legally required to do. People who did have the right of way now have to stop and get backed up while waiting for stragglers and others to decide to get out of the parking lot.

Since when does a private business (a church) get to block others who have the right of way?

I can drive by multiple church locations that have a large following with auto volume being heavy on Sunday. The first couple times it surprised me there were officers directing traffic for a church (not as common back home), but frankly with no lights it could be a free for all otherwise. I've learned to find another way into town if I need to be at a certain place at that time, or in most cases I sit the extra few minutes and wait my turn to get thru. It's not that big a deal, surely not worth getting too bugged about it.

Yeah unbunch your panties there Alice. Many Churches and private businesses hire cops to handle traffic during certain times and it makes sense. You have an individual who is trained in traffic control helping citizens enter and exit a venue safely and orderly while also keeping other traffic flowing.

Do you gripe when the police handle traffic at football games, parades, festivals, etc?

An unfortunate part about living in the south. I can see why you're upset because it is every sunday versus a football game here and a parade there. Perhaps this would be a good time to explore different routes or plan your activities around those times the road is blocked.
