I'll be working in Lugoff +/- 6 months. Looking for alternatives to extended stay hotels (I travel 100% so I'm well versed in hotels and a little tired of them). The corporate housing options all have poor reviews from what I've seen. Just looking for options I may not have found. Here's some details:
30min or less commute
Close to grocery shopping or Target like store
Only need 1br, studio is fine
Quiet area (working 10-12hrs a day, need the sleep)
In my mid 20s
Not a drinker so bars/clubs don't need to be close
Safe area (I know its on everyone's list) as I'll be in and out of town and would like to not worry about leaving a few things
Price Range: I'd prefer to keep it to $1600/mo or less but for the right place I'll go to $2000
You could probably get a 6 month lease on a house or apartment anywhere in Northeast Columbia and there would be hundreds of options in that price range.

No kidding, in that price range you could get you a mack daddy bachelor/ette pad.
I'd get a place in the Vista, maybe at Vista Lofts. You could get from downtown Columbia to Lugoff in a half hour since you'd be traveling against traffic.
The Enclave in Blythewood, SC right off of Interstate 77 would be a nice choice. Quiet, safe, new. Walmart is very nearby, 1 exit down the interstate. I know of 5 families that live there and really like the place.
I have dealt with Select Corporate Housing before in columbia and had no problems. That would be what I would suggest if you are looking for something furnished/short term. The only problem I had was that several of the nicer complexes were occupied for the dates I wanted, so its best to check early. You have to email for pricing quotes.
There are some nice, gated luxury apartment places in Blythewood, and one off Trenholm between Decker and Two Notch.
