There was actually a Del Taco in Rock Hill but it closed last year. I remember them being better than Taco Bell. As for other California chains, there are Jack in the Box stores in Rock Hill, Charlotte, and Greenville-Spartanburg. And Hardee's is the East Coast version of Carl's Jr. Although other than breakfast, I think Carl's is a bit better. Now if we could just get In N Out burger on the east coast. So far they have moved into Texas.

No, Golden Chick is actually very good. They specialize in chicken tenders which are quite tasty, and their bone in fried chicken is good also. They have opened in Greenville in the last year, expanding from Texas. They also have a good selection of side orders including fried okra and dirty rice, and they have yummy yeast rolls rather than biscuits. Although I was hoping for a Popeyes in the Upstate, I have been very pleased with Golden Chick. Nice large portions of chicken, unlike KFC. Also most Bojangle's stores are good these days, whereas KFC is hit or miss.

New redesign of vista area by jillians with two new restaurants!

Quote:
Tin Lizzy's Cantina - described as a restaurant featuring unique FlexMex flavors, it will occupy Suite C, the space on the front left of the building

City Bar and Fondue - a new martini bar and fondue restaurant, which will be in the 700 Gervais alleyway

Both places will open in mid 2015, with construction to begin in a few weeks. The remain space will be left open to a possible future tenant.
Part of Gervais St. in the Vista to Get Redesign

Excited about Tin Lizzy's! Went to one in Bulkhead and it had a great menu both beverages and food. Had a fantastic atmosphere. Major win for Columbia!

Vista Density is on the rise. I'm most excited about a contiguous entertainment district on three streets from Assembly to Huger on Senate, Gervais, and Lady which when complete will not only be kickass but also have the ancilerary benefit of making Greenvillians green with envy enough to take weekend trips here for fun in the same frequency we do there.

I think it is great that dining/entertainment options are increasing so quickly. Seems like a new announcement every week! I do wish however that retail was developing as quickly. Would love to see more clothing, (not just for the college set ala Wish), and home decor boutiques. Anyone else feel the same?

I'm not a shopper, so I don't know about those things, but I am posting this just to make sure you're aware of Granger Owings's new line for women on Main Street, BarbaraNJ. I guess it's for professional women and not for college-age ones, assuming there's a difference.
