If gambling's your focus, move closer to a gambling spot, or to the gambling spot. And it seems that gambling is your focus. Friends, eating out, Gamecocks sports, nature trails, museums, rivers, theater, art studios, the ballet, modern dance, the orchestra, etc. are my focus. I'm not bored because this city is not boring for the types of activities and interests I'm into. Gambling wouldn't be one of my interests even if I had been born and raised and were still living in downtown Las Vegas. Go. Find your niche where you'll be happy. Conquer!

Post of the month. The OP knew there were no casinos when he moved here. Cherokee is less than 3 hours and if there are still casino boats in MB then they're less than 3 hours away. If you're wealthy enough to gamble regularly then you could probably fly to AC or LV on short notice.
