Marco's is the best of the chain types. Also like The Pizza Joint and Mellow Mushroom. Bellacino's in Lexington is pretty good. Did not enjoy the pizza at Za's.

Gina's pizza in Irmo. I have tried a number of the ones listed above and I like Gina's the best. I have found that many places use a variety of cheeses on their pizza which is not what I am used to being from the northeast. Gina's is more like what I am accustomed to.

Pizza is soooooo subjective. Unless you know what the person judging the pizza likes, you can't really rely on the review. For me, anybody who includes a national chain like Domino's, Pizza Hut or Papa Johns is just way out in left field.

Here's my background. My entire family is from NY. More specifically, Bronx and New Rochelle. In my yankee opinon, Pizza Man on Rosewood has the closest thing in the area to a true NY style pizza.

If you want authentic Italian-style pizza, Il Giogiorne on Devine is excellent.

Well now I'm going to have to go to Pizza Man and try that. Much closer than Gina's.

Iam4USC where in the Bronx is your family from?

Don't forget Ray's pizza on 378 in Lexington. He is a former New Yorker who brought the family franchise down south. It isn't cheap but he uses some of the freshest ingredients in town.
