I would take those ratings with a grain of salt. Shandon, Wales Garden, Heathwood, Sherwood Forest, and Forest Acres all have good schools. Any of the schools that feed into AC Flora or Dreher High Schools will be satisfactory.

Take a look at Camden. It's probably exactly halfway between Irmo and Shaw.

Camden would be way too far from Irmo and it's not midway between the two. Look at a map.

Camden is a nice town, but would be the worst of both worlds if I were the OP.

I did. Camden is 39 miles from Irmo and 29 miles from Shaw AFB. Maybe Lugoff would be closer to exactly half way.

The east side of Columbia would be 20 miles from Shaw and 20 miles from Irmo.
